Our paint correction specialists are familiar with a variety of paint types across brands like Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, Mercedes and BMW amongst other more common brands like Toyota, Jeep and Tesla. Once the vehicle has fully been cleaned and decontaminated, the detailer looks at the paintwork in different lighting angles using either natural or handheld lighting to look for swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and other defects in the vehicle’s paintwork. This inspection will dictate what kinds of pads, compounds and techniques will be used in order to correct the paint in the least diminishing method possible.

Once the proper tools have been selected by the specialist, it’s time to start the most important step of the correction and polish the paintwork. Depending on the package selected or the work requested, a detailer will use different levels of pads and compounds to appropriately remove the imperfections assessed. Light swirls can normally be tackled with softer pads and less abrasive polishes, while deeper scratches and machine car wash swirl marks will require heavier compounding and more abrasive cutting, often requiring multiple steps. As a best practice, the lightest, least abrasive combination of pads and compounds should be used before proceeding to a more aggressive method. This technique ensures that the clear coat is worn out as little as possible. This process normally takes a few hours to multiple days, depending on the level of perfection being achieved.

After the paintwork has been perfected to the desired level, we apply a protective layer to the vehicle’s surface. We normally offer an entry-level sealant for the paint, unless a more durable ceramic coating is chosen as the method of protection. Whether a ceramic sealant or ceramic coating is chosen, the goal is protect the paintwork from the elements, with a boost of luster, color and shine if a ceramic coating package is selected.
